# Chrome Browser Shortcuts Cheatsheet

## Before you use the keys

- `Google Chrome on desktop`: These assignments apply to Chrome, not every browser
- `Windows and Linux: Ctrl`: Use the Windows and Linux sections for those systems
- `Mac: Command`: Use the separate Mac section; modifier keys are not interchangeable
- `Keyboard and app differences`: Desktop settings and extensions can change key assignments

## Windows and Linux: tabs and windows

- `Ctrl + T`: Open a tab
- `Ctrl + N`: Open a window
- `Ctrl + Shift + N`: Open an Incognito window
- `Ctrl + Shift + T`: Reopen the most recently closed tab; repeat for earlier tabs
- `Ctrl + W`: Close the current tab
- `Ctrl + Tab / Ctrl + Shift + Tab`: Move to the next or previous tab

## Windows and Linux: navigation

- `Ctrl + L`: Select the address bar
- `Alt + Left / Right`: Go back or forward in the tab history
- `Ctrl + R`: Reload the current page
- `Ctrl + Shift + R`: Reload the page without cached content
- `Alt + Home`: Open the home page in the current tab
- `Ctrl + H`: Open History

## Windows and Linux: page tools

- `Ctrl + F`: Find text on the page
- `Ctrl + D`: Bookmark the current page
- `Ctrl + J`: Open Downloads
- `Ctrl + P`: Open the print dialog
- `Ctrl + 0`: Reset page zoom
- `Ctrl + 1 through Ctrl + 8`: Select the tab at that numbered position

## Mac: tabs and navigation

- `Command + T`: Open a tab
- `Command + N`: Open a window
- `Shift + Command + N`: Open an Incognito window
- `Shift + Command + T`: Reopen the most recently closed tab
- `Command + W`: Close the current tab
- `Command + L`: Select the address bar
- `Command + [ / Command + ]`: Go back or forward in the tab history

## Mac: page tools
