# HAR Viewer

Inspect a HAR file in your browser. Review request method, URL, status, size, and time, then copy one selected request as a controlled cURL command for review.

**Use this tool:** [HAR Viewer](https://findutils.com/developers/har-viewer/)

## Programmatic access

- REST id `har-viewer`: POST https://api.findutils.com/api/tools/har-viewer/execute (reference: https://findutils.com/api/har-viewer/)
- MCP tool `har_viewer` on https://mcp.findutils.com (reference: https://findutils.com/mcp/har-viewer/)

## Why use this HAR viewer

A HAR file holds request URLs, headers, and bodies from a browser session. This page parses that JSON in your browser, shows a table, and builds a cURL command for the selected row. FindUtils does not receive the file. Analytics or ads on the page may still load.

## HAR Review Tips

- Remove passwords, tokens, cookies, and personal data before you share a HAR file.
- Keep the input below the 20 MB text limit.
- Select the exact request row before you copy cURL.
- Review the generated cURL before you run it because request headers or body data can be sensitive.
- Use a different tool when you need response body inspection or request replay.

## Frequently Asked Questions

### Does this upload the HAR?

No. FindUtils parses the HAR in your browser and does not upload or store the file. Analytics and ads may still load on the page.

### What is a HAR file?

A HAR file is HTTP Archive JSON from a browser network panel. It can contain request URLs, headers, cookies, bodies, timing data, and response metadata.

### Can I replay a request?

No. FindUtils HAR Viewer creates a cURL command for the selected request. It does not send or replay the request from a FindUtils server.

### Is there a size limit?

Yes. The browser viewer accepts up to 20 MiB of HAR text. Reduce or split a larger archive before inspection.

### Does this replace HAR to cURL?

The viewer shows the saved log before conversion. Select one entry when you want to copy its request as cURL.

### Does the generated cURL include browser cookies?

No. Browser cookies are excluded from the generated command. Other recorded request headers and body data can remain, so review the command before use.

### Can I inspect a response body?

No. The table shows response status, size, MIME type, and timing. It does not display a saved response body.

### Which HAR shapes can the viewer read?

It reads the standard log.entries shape. It also accepts a top-level entries array or an array of entries.

### Does the viewer remove secrets from a HAR?

No. HAR files can contain authorization headers, cookies, request bodies, and personal data. Remove sensitive values before you share the file or copied cURL.

### Can I edit or save the HAR?

No. The tool reads entries and creates cURL for the selected request. It does not edit, save, or sanitize the source HAR file.
