Why Use the Photo Measurement Tool?
Whether you're shopping online and need to check if an item will fit, measuring furniture for your space, or estimating dimensions from product photos, this tool gives you accurate measurements from any photo. Simply include a reference object of known size (like a credit card or coin), and you can measure anything else in the frame.
Frequently Asked Questions
How accurate are the measurements?
With proper calibration using a reference object, measurements are typically accurate within 1-5mm. Accuracy depends on image quality, camera angle, and how precisely you draw the calibration line.
What can I use as a reference object?
Any object with known dimensions works. Credit cards (85.6mm width), coins, A4/Letter paper, or any item you can measure precisely. The reference object should be on the same plane as what you're measuring.
Why do my measurements seem off?
Measurements may be inaccurate if: the reference object is at a different distance from the camera than the target, the photo has significant perspective distortion, or the calibration line wasn't drawn precisely. For best results, photograph objects flat and straight-on.
Can I measure curved or 3D objects?
This tool measures 2D distances in photos. For curved surfaces, you can measure the visible flat dimensions, but 3D depth cannot be calculated from a single photo without specialized equipment.
Are my photos uploaded to a server?
