Frequently Asked Questions

How is the note encrypted?
Notes are encrypted in your browser using AES-256-GCM before being stored. The encryption key is part of the URL and never sent to our servers.
Can you read my notes?
No. We only store encrypted data. Without the URL containing the key, the content is unreadable. We use zero-knowledge encryption.
What happens after viewing?
If set to burn after reading, the note is immediately deleted from our servers. Other expiration options delete at the specified time.
Is the password required?
No, but adding a password provides an extra layer of security. Even if someone intercepts the link, they'll need the password.
