Text Summarizer MCP tool

MCP findutils:text_summarizer

Create an extractive summary of a text and return the summary with word and sentence statistics. Sentences are scored by word frequency, position (first and last sentence boosted), and key indicator words; the top sentences are kept in original order. Length: short (20%), medium (40%), long (60%), or an explicit percentage. Rule-based, no AI model.

Needs an API key. Running a tool needs an API key. Keys are not for sale yet: ask for early access. About API keys

string optional

Target length as a share of sentences. Default: medium. One of short · medium · long. Default "medium".
percentage

integer optional

Explicit target percentage of sentences to keep (5-95). Overrides length.
